I am looking for any book, website, tutorial or anything else to learn XP, as a beginner.
I tried google search. but not success much.
Anyone can suggest me, or help me, please?
For sorrow, no one here to suggest me!
Try these two websites: accesstechnologyinstitute.com and crisscrosstech.com.
I have a book I got from rfbd, it's a text book and I don't have the title right now but it goes over xp pro from top to bottom.
I'll post later with the info if your interested.
There was a book that I used in going from windows/98 to xp. But, I can't remember the title. Maybe someone else has seen it.
It's something like windows/xp from a blind perspective. It was done by a lady in England, and she did one for windows/95, windows/98 and windows/xp.
It had a Braille set of drawings that came with it that showed things like the desktop and start menu from a sighted point of view.
It came on disk, braille and, I think, on cassette.
It was great for training a new client who had never seen a computer screen before.
Anyway, if someone had information for obtaining this book it would probably help Farzana out.
Thanks.
Bob
many thanks buckeye fan, Yogi and blbobby.
Now, how do i get the chance to read the books please?
Hi Bob,
That is just something I was wondering if they had. A lot of times when I am trying to tell sighted people how to do something on the computer it's difficult cause I don't understand how the screen is layed out vissually.
Yogi, how do i get the book, which u said about?
The book I spoke of is "windows/xp explained" by Sarah Morley.
I really don't know how to get it, or how much it is. Google might help out there.
Yogi, in training someone anything about the computer, I've found that it's almost essential to have an idea of what's going on visually. And I try to convey this "sighted" view of the computer to the student.
Otherwise, the student might get the erroneous idea that the rest of the world navigates around the computer screen much the same way as we do. For example, with the tab key and starting at the top of the page and working our way down to where we want to be.
Thanks.
Bob,
